Choose Your Lot, Bring Your Own Builder

Aside from a broad selection of family-friendly lots, Westwinds allows you to “bring your own builder.” If you don’t already have a contractor in mind, we recommend selecting your lot first, as it will help you zero in on the right builder for your needs. Here’s how it works:

Determine Your New Home Budget

Start by establishing what kind of home you want, followed by basic features such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms and additional rooms most important to you and your family.

Do Your Research

Make a list of potential candidates, checking online reviews and excluding contractors with negative ratings. Landrex is also happy to provide you with our list of preferred builders.

Take A Tour

This is an integral part of the process, allowing you to see builder quality, design, features and floor plans firsthand.

Interview Your Top Three

Schedule interviews with the top three builders from your list. This will give you a sense of the builder’s personality, how they communicate, how knowledgeable they are, etc., and a chance to ask critical questions about the process.

Check Builder References

Before making your final decision, ask your contractor for a list of references. Remember: A builder’s reluctance to provide references is a red flag.

If you’re still looking for the right builder to meet your needs, we can help point you in the right direction. See our list of preferred builders to learn more about new home options in Westwinds.
